Episode Overview
Elliot reconnects with his estranged father, Charlie, who is visiting. During an awkward introduction, Charlie presents Elliot to his friend, Roberta Sessions. At dinner with Elliot's sister, Ruthie, tensions rise as their dad monopolizes the conversation with business talk, frustrating her husband. Ruthie discreetly warns Elliot against giving their father money or getting involved in his schemes, revealing that Charlie never fulfilled his promise to pay for her college. Despite Charlie expressing regret about the past, he pulls Elliot into his latest business idea. When Charlie arrives at the hotel with a sitter and invites Elliot and Ethan to dinner, Elliot reluctantly agrees. They unexpectedly encounter Nancy on a date with Matt Enwright, leading to a heated argument between her and Elliot over leaving Ethan behind.
