Episode Overview
As Michael and Hope's relationship begins to fray, they prepare for her parents’ 40th anniversary celebration in Arizona. Hope insists they attend, but Michael prefers to stay home to focus on work. While she's away, she invites John Dunaway to stay at their house. At a dinner party hosted by Melissa, Michael overhears jokes about Hope's interest in John. When he returns home, he finds John comfortably settled by the fireplace with their dog, Grendel, prompting Michael to book the next flight to Phoenix. Upon his unexpected arrival in Arizona, tensions quickly escalate, with Hope accusing him of prioritizing work over family and implying he doesn't appreciate her efforts as a mother or with the ERC.
