Episode Overview
After the birth of their son Leo, Hope and Michael face a significant decision regarding his circumcision, which raises deeper questions about his Jewish identity. Michael's mother, Barbara, visits with her friend Ben, whom Hope finds likable, but Michael feels uneasy about the dynamic. Soon, both Ben and Melissa inquire about finding a mohel for the bris. Michael and Hope discuss their differing viewpoints on the circumcision with their friends, Gary and Ellyn. That evening, as the topic resurfaces, Hope asks Michael to clarify why he believes it's necessary. Meanwhile, Melissa brings photos of Leo and some family history, and unexpectedly, Rabbi Franklin, a mohel, arrives, presuming he’s been hired by Michael.
