Episode Overview

After completing a bombing mission on the airframe factory in Metz, Major Cobb reports that the target has been fully destroyed. However, Major Herrick, the Intelligence officer, asserts that the factory is still operational. General Crowe reprimands Frank, who then takes a solo B-17 to investigate. Alongside Lieutenant Canello, he discovers they’ve been targeting a decoy site and identifies the actual factory. Unfortunately, they are shot down before they can relay the critical information, resulting in Canello's death. Captured by furious French partisans resentful of American bombings, Savage must fight for survival and ultimately convinces them of the necessity of the air raids.
