Episode Overview

After successfully completing a bombing run, Captain Bradovich's B-17 suffers engine issues. Tourneau falls back to assist, but Bradovich reprimands him for not maintaining air discipline. After a conversation with Harvey, he heads to the officers' club where his co-pilot, Stan Ainsley, encourages him to socialize, but instead, he encounters Sarah. During the next mission, the plane takes damage, and Ainsley is injured. Bradovich orders everyone to bail out, but only he makes it back. The crew discovers the wreckage later, finding two bodies and no survivors. Bradovich's new crew consists of Dickey, Williams, and Flight Engineer Brack, who has a "head cold," leading to Komansky stepping in. While in the air, the crew initially isolates Bradovich, but Komansky defends him, recognizing their shared nature.
