Episode Overview

As B-17 "Angel Babe" returns from a flawless mission to Willemshaven, Flight Engineer Willets shares the belief that whenever the plane leads, they always make it back safely. On the ground, Major Stovall awaits with a Public Relations team eager to capture footage of the aircraft after its 49th mission. They plan to showcase "Angel Babe" in the U.S. as the first in the Eight AF to reach 50 missions. However, Willets senses that the plane, with its spirit, won’t want to retire just yet. The PRO team is set to join for what they hope will be her final flight, but when a tire blows, they must abort the mission. As they land, Willets prevents Cameraman Staff Sergeant Ben Prinzi from re-entering the plane due to the live bombs onboard, while Major Budd from the PRO feels the crew is being overly superstitious about their lucky aircraft.
