One day in the cafeteria, Louis comes to the rescue of Blake Thompson, the school's semi-famous figure known for a few TV commercials, when he’s choking. Grateful for the help, Blake befriends Louis and invites him to hang out with his popular crowd. Louis quickly embraces his newfound status, which strains his relationships with Twitty and Tawny. However, once Blake notices Louis gaining popularity, he abruptly cuts ties with him. Left without friends from either group, Louis finds himself isolated until Tawny devises a clever plan to help him. Meanwhile, Ren struggles as the school policy monitor, facing relentless teasing from Larry Beale, who mocks her during lunch and fills her suggestion box with mean comments. Feeling defeated and considering quitting, Ren receives unexpected encouragement from both Louis and even Larry himself.
