Episode Overview

Ren is thrilled to land a job at the trendiest spot in the mall food court, Your Toast, where they serve toast in creative ways while putting on a fun show. However, the situation is complicated by the overbearing assistant manager, Mr. Squirelli, who runs the place with an iron fist. Impressed by Ren's ability to handle a difficult customer—her brother Louis—Squirelli promotes her to assistant assistant manager, a position Ruby had hoped to get. Later, when Squirelli discovers a half-eaten piece of toast behind the counter, he interrogates Ren about the violation of the "Ten Commandments of Toast," but she refuses to betray Ruby. Despite this, Ruby is fired, and she holds Ren responsible for her job loss, as do coworkers Hector and Denise. One day, while Squirelli is away, Hector and Denise encounter Ruby at the mall and leave Ren to handle a rush of customers alone.
