Episode Overview

Brenda's grandfather visits, bringing along a cherished Wailing Eddie record. While he shares it with Brenda, she accidentally scratches it, leaving him heartbroken. Brenda can't grasp the significance of the blues music. Meanwhile, Mary and Lester discover another rare record, but Brenda inadvertently damages that one too. The episode intercuts with Sandra and Rose performing blues songs, all narrated by Brenda. By the end, she begins to comprehend the depth of the blues, realizing she has her own struggles. After a tense moment with her grandfather, they find common ground, and Pearl arranges for Wailing Eddie to perform at the Jenkins' home.
