Jeb Drummond, a lazy sheepherder, begins to graze his flock on the Ponderosa and flatly refuses to leave. Despite Ben's persistent efforts to evict him, Jeb remains obstinate and ultimately takes Adam hostage, demanding ownership of the ranch in return for his release.
