Episode Overview

As the Nevada Territory anticipates its transition to statehood, Ben considers a run for governor. However, his plans take a turn when he discovers that he is wanted for a murder that occurred two decades ago in New Orleans. Inspector Charles Leduque arrives to deliver the news, complicating matters further when Joe kills his bodyguard in an act of self-defense, only for Leduque to twist the narrative against him. Faced with no other option, Ben must accompany Leduque to clear his name in a tense and gripping episode. The story also includes poignant references to Joe's mother, with scenes featuring Marie's grave by Lake Tahoe.
