Episode Overview
Title: The Gold Mine Plot: Two wanderers arrive at the Ponderosa with intentions to rob the Cartwrights but are quickly chased off. During their stay, Joe forms a bond with Ramon, a young Mexican who is part of their group. After a minor conflict, the drifters abandon Ramon. Later, they realize he has stumbled upon a gold discovery. Ramon returns to the Ponderosa and is warmly accepted by the Cartwrights. They uncover that Ramon's father, struggling to support his numerous children, had sold him to the drifters. The men attempt to coerce Ramon into revealing the gold's location, but the Cartwrights intervene, allowing Ramon to claim the gold for himself. He ultimately returns to Mexico with his newfound wealth.
