Episode Overview
The Ponderosa turns into a battleground as a group of Mexican mercenaries, commanded by General Diaz, storms in. Diaz is enraged when his soldier, Forsythe, disregards his command to take a hostage without violence and instead shoots Little Joe in the back. In a show of power, Diaz compels Ben to guide his men through the backroads of the Ponderosa, plotting to set an ambush for a gold train escorted by Emperor Maximilian's troops.
