Episode Overview

In the pilot episode of "The Bionic Woman," Steve Austin returns to his hometown of Ojai, California, where he purchases a ranch and reconnects with Jaime Sommers, a former childhood sweetheart and now a professional tennis player. Their old flame sparks anew, but tragedy strikes when Jaime suffers a severe injury during a skydiving accident, resulting in critical damage to her right arm, ear, and both legs. Faced with the risk of losing her, Steve convinces Oscar Goldman to give Jaime bionic enhancements. Initially hesitant, she soon adapts to her new abilities. Their bond strengthens, culminating in Steve's marriage proposal, which Jaime joyfully accepts.
