Episode Overview
The Beatles' arrival in the U.S. creates excitement across the nation and the Pryor home, except for JJ, who learns that Notre Dame has denied him a full scholarship. In an effort to support his son's college dreams, Jack turns to his affluent but aloof brother Ted for financial assistance, despite Pete and Helen's reservations. Ted agrees to cover JJ's first year in South Bend, seeking 50% ownership of the family shop in return. Meanwhile, Meg struggles to define her relationship with Luke, trying out Roxanne's suggestion for him to introduce himself as her boyfriend. Patty faces a dilemma when she must teach Will about the twelve apostles to earn the chance to watch the Beatles on Ed Sullivan that evening.
