Episode Overview

Del gets thrilled about potential commercial opportunities when a local politician references Caroline’s cartoon strip in a speech. However, Richard quickly dampens his enthusiasm, noting the politician’s poor track record with arts funding. Things take a turn when Del arranges a meeting with the crafty politician, who becomes enamored with Richard’s newly finished painting and decides to purchase it. By the time Richard regrets selling his first piece to someone he dislikes, Julia has already used the money for a honeymoon in Hawaii. Meanwhile, Annie struggles with her cousin Jennifer, who has left high school to chase an acting dream in Manhattan. Annie loses her temper upon learning that Jennifer has met a man claiming to be a movie producer, who promises her a role alongside Keanu Reeves, and heads to his hotel to confront him.
