The festivities for Alexander Reynolds' 60th birthday take a dark turn when he is discovered with a knife embedded in his chest. Murdoch arrives on the scene and quickly realizes that the victim was loathed by nearly all his relatives. As the investigation unfolds, suspicion surrounds the Reynolds family, but it sharpens significantly when his daughter, Charlotte, emerges wearing a blood-stained dress, admitting to murdering her father.
