Episode Overview

Philip Henderson stands beside a striking scarecrow in a field of ruined crops. Despite keeping the birds at bay, his harvest has been devastated. Frustrated and heartbroken, he accuses his irritable neighbor, Doug Randall, of causing the damage with spray drift. Doug vehemently denies it, leading to a heated confrontation. The next day, Philip is found dead in his field, poisoned by an unusual toxin. Fingers point toward Doug and his fiercely loyal wife, Trudy Neilson, who had a known dispute with Philip over an unpaid bar tab at her pub, The Toad and Lion. As Mike and his team investigate, they uncover more suspects, including the secretive Tamati Taylor, another neighbor. Curiously, Philip had a twin brother, who seems oddly indifferent to the tragedy.
