Episode Overview

Nick finds himself handling the case of a boy named Lawrence, who relies on a wheelchair and faces being sent to a group home while his mother serves a sentence for prostitution. Lawrence wishes to stay with his stepdad, but the man’s criminal past complicates matters. The state favors placement at St. Riley's, a facility Lawrence despises due to its residents. Nick believes his best course of action is to locate Lawrence's biological father, a former client of the mother’s, to pursue child support. However, the father’s desire for a deeper connection with Lawrence surprises everyone. Meanwhile, Burton and Nick lend a hand to an old acquaintance whose daughter, Rebecca, is attempting to seize control of his business.
