Pearl is eager to elevate the family’s status in High Society, believing their lineage as one of the original families from the Mayflower deserves recognition. She visits a "Beauty Saloon" and returns home speaking French. Excitedly, she purchases fancy outfits for everyone, and though they’re hesitant, the family tries them on—Jethro even dons a tutu! Jed gets an opportunity to meet the President but must confirm that his great-grandfather's name is Ezekiel. Instead, he mistakenly claims it was Jeremiah, leading the First Settlers to doubt their connection. Later, Granny confronts him, knowing he lied, but Jed prefers their simple lifestyle, and life returns to normal.
