Episode Overview

A pretentious British filmmaker named Declan Desmond sets out to create a documentary on life at Springfield Elementary. Upon meeting Lisa, he criticizes her for having too many ambitions and advises her to focus on just one. Lisa chooses astronomy, but struggles to stargaze due to light pollution. She persuades Mayor Quimby to lower the streetlights at night, but this leads to a spike in crime. Facing public outcry, Quimby reinstates the lights. In a desperate move, Lisa overloads the Power Plant’s generators, resulting in a blackout that finally allows her to enjoy an unobstructed meteor shower.
