The Keaton family finds themselves at odds over a “major” household dilemma: whether to update their charming, yet outdated kitchen. Elyse, Mallory, and Jennifer believe the time has come for a fresh, modern style, while Steven cherishes the kitchen's nostalgic vibe and wants to keep everything as is. Alex, meanwhile, is only half-engaged in the debate, as his mind is focused on a trip to Chicago. His boss, Rebecca Ryan, is sending someone to represent their company at a prestigious seminar, and Alex is eager to go. However, when Rebecca unexpectedly selects the timid Matthews instead, Alex’s plans are upended. But when Matthews falls ill, Alex must step in, presenting him with a golden opportunity—albeit one that forces him to share a room with his boss for the entire event.
