Episode Overview
Sub-Zero meets up with his long-lost friend Smoke, who has returned after many years. Once inseparable, their friendship was shattered when the Lin Kuei clan chief ordered the transformation of ninjas into machines. While Sub-Zero escaped this fate, Smoke was captured and turned into a cyborg. Now, Sub-Zero is desperate to find out if his friend still possesses his humanity or if he has become a mere killing machine. Tasked with eliminating Sub-Zero, Smoke finds himself torn. But when Sub-Zero's allies join the fray against the Lin Kuei, Smoke’s humanity resurfaces. Together, they battle their former leader, who can shapeshift into animals. The two ninjas refuse to back down, ultimately defeating him. As they part ways once more, Smoke bids farewell to Sub-Zero before vanishing again.
