Episode Overview
The eight teams receive a clue directing them from the Pit Stop to the Battleship Aurora, a significant site that marked the beginning of the Russian Revolution. Their journey involves a lengthy twenty-hour bus ride followed by an 8,000-mile flight to Russia. At the bus station, tension arises as teams jockey for position, but a few strategize wisely by opting for a later bus with fewer stops and visiting a travel agent. Unfortunately, Bob and Joyce face a setback with a delayed flight, putting their race status in jeopardy. Upon reaching St. Petersburg, teams face a Detour challenge, choosing between a hockey task—Block Five Shots—or a drinking challenge—consume one shot. The teams are evenly divided, and no one struggles much with the Detour. However, the Roadblock proves challenging, as participants must eat two pounds of caviar. Christie has a tough time, causing her and Colin's lead to slip, while Brandon and Nicole also falter when Nicole faints.
