Episode Overview
The teams depart from the United States headed for Iceland, scrambling to catch one of three connecting flights. Weather delays shuffle some teams from top positions to the back of the pack, but they all converge at Europe’s largest glacier. After an exhilarating snowmobiling session, they camp on the glacier overnight. In the morning, they draw tickets from their tents to determine their departure times for charter flights that leave every half hour. Their next clue sends them to Glacier Ice Beach, where they face a Detour choice: Ice Climb or Ice Search. Most teams choose the Ice Climb, which requires climbing the glacier with specialized equipment, while three teams opt for the Ice Search, scouring a seven-square-mile area for an orange buoy. This decision allows some teams to finish quickly, but one team struggles to find their way. The final 200-mile drive to the Pit Stop at the Blue Lagoon determines the outcome, with one team arriving too late and facing elimination.
