The Amazing Race (2001)

Episode Overview

The teams depart from the Coconut Palace in Manila, Philippines, aware that one of them will be eliminated. As they travel to El Nido on two charter flights, fierce competition arises, highlighted by a challenge where they must locate an island bearing the Philippine flag. A critical blunder from one team sets them back significantly, while another team falters during a Roadblock that requires rappelling down a steep cliff. The remaining teams then fly to Calgary, Alberta, Canada, where they tackle a steep hike before receiving a clue directing them to Olympic Park. There, they face a detour: Slide or Ride, needing to complete either a luge run in 34 seconds or a difficult biking course in three minutes. After some initial struggles, all teams manage to finish the luge. They then head to their final destination in Dallas, Texas.
