Episode Overview
The teams arrive at the mat in Russia after finishing the Nesting Dolls/Trolley Wash Detour and receive their next clue, which directs them to fly 1,000 miles to Frankfurt, Germany, followed by a 100-mile train ride to Stuttgart. Three teams score nighttime flights and gain an advantage, while the rest must wait for morning departures. They then ride with a professional driver at the “Wall of Death” in a Mercedes-Benz factory. Following a 200-mile drive to Ellbach Field in Bad Tolz, they hunt for one of eleven hidden Travelocity roaming gnomes among 150 feet and hats. As some teams pull ahead, others struggle to find their way. Next, they head to Bavaria Films in Grunwald, where they face a Detour: Break It, involving smashing bottles over each other’s heads at the sound of a cuckoo bird, or Slap It, which requires mastering a tricky German dance.
