Episode Overview
Khadijah feels frustrated when her estranged father arrives in town for Synclaire's wedding. During a Mother's Day dinner with her parents, she struggles to be pleasant. When she hears from Laverne that her parents took a limo to Atlantic City, Khadijah rushes after them. Rita reassures her that they’re just going to a Smokey Robinson concert. Ed finds Khadijah at the slot machines and acknowledges his past mistakes, expressing that having her in his life is crucial as she brings him genuine pride. He apologizes for not being more present in her upbringing. Khadijah hits the jackpot with Ed's coin. Meanwhile, Max warns Overton to keep quiet about her affair with Kyle, leading Synclaire to suspect something's amiss. When Regine fails to get anything out of Overton, Synclaire confronts him. He reveals Max's secret, but she isn’t shocked; she lives in the room beneath Kyle’s!
