As the new year begins at the firm, significant changes are on the horizon. Still reeling from her breakup with Larry, Ally resolves to embrace a fresh start, determined not to let anything hinder her. However, her plans take an unexpected turn when she collides with a woman on the street while riding her Razor Scooter. This chance encounter introduces her to Jenny Shaw (Julianne Nicholson), a fellow heartbroken soul, and they quickly bond. During their walk to the office, Ally learns that Jenny's best friend is her ex and that she’s a lawyer without a firm, currently handling a massive class action lawsuit with 72,000 plaintiffs. Excited, Ally invites Jenny to join the firm, but Richard is taken aback, reminding her that he holds the authority to hire—and he’s already made a new addition to the team.
