Episode Overview

Maddie continuously pushes Ally to test her patience and affection, a behavior Ally only recognizes when Victor points it out. In her overprotectiveness, Ally confronts Maddie's school principal, teachers, and peers. She decides to hire a nanny, but struggles to find one who meets her high standards, ultimately choosing Victor, who has formed a strong connection with Maddie. Amidst all this, Ally receives a partnership offer at the firm now that John is gone. After much thought, Richard proposes renaming the firm to Fish & McBeal, which frustrates Nelle, who believes she should be the next partner. While reviewing the firm's finances, Ally uncovers losses that require layoffs to prevent further issues. Determined to take action, she resolves to fire someone, as neither Richard nor John had the resolve to do so. Meanwhile, tensions rise as Coretta and Raymond confront each other.
