Holmes delves into the case of Terry Jowit, a suspected money-launderer on the run from Scottish police. While sifting through Jowit’s mail, she finds a cheque from an antiques dealer, which raises her suspicions that he might be using lavish antiques to clean his illicit funds. Unexpectedly, antique dealer Judy Ryan possesses a recording of Beech accepting a bribe from both her and Jowit, and Beech is desperate to keep it under wraps. When Holmes confronts him, he threatens her with the illegal opening of Jowit's mail. Later, after Judy becomes a hit-and-run victim, Beech tries to frame Jowit, but he’s caught off guard when Jowit reveals his shady operations to Holmes, putting the corrupt detective in a tight spot.
