Episode Overview

Boulton and Stanton’s personal issues start to interfere with their investigation, as Stanton tries to shake off the previous night’s events. Holmes convinces Meadows to split the two cases and uncovers a connection through a second witness linked to both victims. However, the witness refuses to have her statement recorded, leaving Boulton to use her insights to create a 'bomb' aimed at the Carter family, hoping it will force them to incriminate themselves in their various crimes. Meanwhile, Stanton attempts to keep her distance from Boulton, who remains oblivious to the fact that her frequent visits to a "sick mother" are actually to CIB's Detective Superintendent Steve Hodges.
