Episode Overview
P.C. Smith and P.C. Melvin are the first responders to a fiery traffic accident. Despite the danger, they bravely attempt to save the people trapped inside. When one of the vehicles explodes, a passenger is killed, leaving Smith unconscious and Melvin suffering from burns on his hands. Among those rescued is a notorious criminal, and the Fire Investigations Officer suspects he was carrying explosives in his trunk. Meanwhile, D.C. Carver and W.P.C. Martella are on a stakeout at a pub but get sidetracked by video games. They eventually manage to apprehend a man embezzling from his employer. D.S. Roach goes for his firearms requalification at the Met but deliberately fails, resulting in the revocation of his license. At the hospital, Martella helps Melvin monitor their suspect, but chaos ensues when a drugged man sprints through the ward, allowing their criminal to escape.
