S04E22 Running Late
Episode Overview
W.P.C. Brind is running late for the parade and misses an important alert advising the uniform relief to avoid the Dock Industrial Estate, where C.I.D. and a P.T.17 team are on standby for a security van heist. While on her foot patrol, Brind spots a young girl and chases her onto the estate, inadvertently stumbling into the operation. Burnside intercepts a suspicious van, but it’s just packed with fish. After being reprimanded by Burnside and Sgt. Cryer, Brind grows suspicious of the girl, Jane, and her family. Meanwhile, Burnside realizes the security van makes two visits, prompting him to rush back with as many armed officers as he can gather, arriving just in time to apprehend the robbers. Later, Brind returns to Jane’s apartment and uncovers a bedroom filled with stolen items, leading her to arrest Jane’s mother, who is revealed to be one of Burnside's informants.
