Episode Overview

P.C. Edwards and W.P.C. Morgan discover the lifeless body of a young woman who seems to have taken her own life by inhaling gas. However, they spot the neighbor who reported the incident wiping something from her mouth. D.C. Carver is astonished that D.C. Lines has been in the detective role for twelve years, and Lines, doubting the suicide theory, showcases his investigative prowess by cracking the case. It turns out the neighbor, Kelly, had chloroformed her, assaulted her, and then turned on the gas. Although Kelly confesses, Tosh is frustrated by his reluctance to share his motives. Meanwhile, D.C. Dashwood is livid after D.S. Roach ditches him for dinner with Insp. Christine Frazer.
