Ackland investigates the premises and grows suspicious upon seeing peculiar photographs and a shoebox containing a woman's items. It becomes evident that the man harbored a disturbing obsession with restraining women, with a criminal record stretching back decades. Recent belongings suggest he may have had another victim before his death. As D.S. Roach, Dashwood, and Carver explore every lead, they uncover another flat owned by him but find no sign of a victim. They deduce that the neighbor who reported him missing was likely his intended target, yet Roach chooses not to inform her of how close she came to peril.
