S04E47 Digging Up the Past
Episode Overview
While working on a construction site, an excavator uncovers human remains, prompting Sgt. Cryer to summon the C.I.D. However, Cryer is reluctant to return to the station due to his son Patrick facing charges for dangerous driving that resulted in a death. Ch. Insp. Conway, along with Burnside and Roach, confront Cryer, who is trying to distance himself from his family. On-site, D.C. Dashwood and the S.O.C.O. tease the site manager about the possibility of murder, despite the bones being ancient. Tensions rise as the workers demand to continue their jobs, leading Burnside to arrest them all. The remains are later identified as belonging to victims of the Great Plague in 1665. Meanwhile, P.C. Edwards is furious after being duped by Ramsey into buying counterfeit theater tickets. Although Ramsey insists he’s innocent, they track down the forgers themselves, inadvertently disrupting a joint operation between the Fraud Squad and the U.S
