Episode Overview
D.S. Roach is questioning Barron, a suspect in a robbery involving cash and gold bullion. With insufficient evidence to charge him, Barron is aware of his freedom. Roach, eager to uncover a connection, persuades D.C. Lines to work some unpaid overtime, despite Lines' hesitations due to his sick eldest son. After getting his wife’s approval, they head to Barron’s associate, Halloran, at his nightclub, where he hints at someone who might have laundered the stolen cash. When they check the laundrette at the given address, they realize they’ve been tricked. As they find police at the home of Barron’s ex, Cheryl Maynard, they learn a neighbor reported a robbery, but Cheryl remains tight-lipped. It becomes clear that Halloran has made off with the loot. Roach reluctantly lets Barron go but relishes the opportunity to mention the empty cellar at Cheryl's place.
