The Bill (1984)

Episode Overview

P.C. Stamp and W.P.C. Brind apprehend a visibly intoxicated man who can hardly keep his balance. Once at the station, he suddenly collapses from a drug overdose, hinting at having murdered a woman. D.C. Lines and D.C. Carver quickly work to identify him using his dental records and by visiting local jazz clubs, but they discover his wife and mistress are both safe. Meanwhile, P.C. Melvin is tasked with notifying a woman about her husband’s death in a factory accident, but he grows suspicious he’s made a mistake. D.C. Dashwood investigates at the factory and learns it was a man with a similar name who perished, while the alive husband arrives at the station to file a complaint.
