Episode Overview

After enduring a grueling four months on Guadalcanal, Leckie, Basilone, and countless others arrive in Melbourne, where they receive a warm welcome from enthusiastic crowds who see them as heroes of Australia. While his friends celebrate, Leckie forms a strong bond with an Australian woman and her Greek immigrant family. At the same time, Basilone is honored with the Medal of Honor and is invited to return to the United States to assist in promoting war bonds.
