As Ash and Brock look for Pikachu, they encounter a new rival named Paul, who issues a challenge to Ash. However, without Pikachu, Ash can't take him on. Meanwhile, Dawn and her Piplup join forces with Ash and Brock, and together, they set out to save Pikachu from the clutches of Team Rocket.
