Episode Overview

When Ash and his friends get to the Hearthome Gym, they encounter Barry, a trainer hailing from Twinleaf Town. It turns out that Barry is a big fan of Paul, whom he admired during the Double Battle Tournament. Eager to test his skills, Ash challenges Barry to a Pokémon battle. Ash selects Chimchar, Gliscor, and Pikachu to take on Barry's Staraptor, Roserade, and Empoleon. In a closely contested match, Ash ultimately triumphs, delivering the final blow to Empoleon with Pikachu's powerful Volt Tackle.
