After the tragic loss of their parents, Diane and Mark, who passed away just weeks apart in June 2003, eight siblings ranging from 12 to 23 years old were left to navigate life in Livermore, California. With the older siblings stepping up to care for the younger ones, they took on legal guardianship to keep the family intact and avoid foster care. The siblings—Jennifer, Janice, Daniel, Kelly, Rachel, Jackie, Dolly, and the youngest, Teresa—shared a single bathroom and leaned on each other for support.
