Episode Overview
Kevin and Cathy Nutsch, along with their five daughters from Douglas, Kansas, faced a devastating tragedy when their home exploded due to a propane leak. While on vacation in the summer of 2005, they received the heart-wrenching news that their three-bedroom bungalow had been completely destroyed, taking with it their home and Kevin's auto repair business. Now, the family is temporarily living in the basement of Kevin's grandfather. The situation is particularly difficult for Kevin, who continues to sleep on their property each night, hoping to guard the few belongings they have left. Fortunately, the team from Extreme Makeover: Home Edition is stepping in to give them a beautifully renovated home.
