Episode Overview
In this emotional two-hour episode, Susan Tom has devoted her life to caring for children with disabilities. Just three days before Christmas in 2004, she faced a heartbreaking loss when her oldest adopted son, Anthony, who battled a rare skin condition, passed away. Living in a cramped two-story house with her seven adopted daughters, the space was inadequate for their unique needs. Among them are Hannah and Xania, who were born without legs, Libby, who has Spina Bifida, and Faith, who bears scars from a crib fire. There's also Katie, affected by Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, Cloe, who can’t bend her joints, and Margeret, who had brain surgery as a baby. Each child is precious to Susan and deserves a better living environment. Ty and his team, including new designer Tanya McQueen, step in to create a more accessible home for the family of eight, featuring themed rooms that reflect their personalities.
