The cadets receive their exam results, and after reviewing hers, Sallyanne suggests to Jason that he should find a new partner. Mera shares with Neri and her friends that Charlie's song can activate the Synchronium. Kal overhears and rushes to inform Dr. Hellegren, who is under pressure from his investors eager for progress. Mera gets brought to ORCA, where she meets Benny, Cass, and Lena. Neri and Mera convince Lena to steal a key from her father, which is essential for accessing the Synchronium held by UBRI. Kal unexpectedly shows up outside Hellegren’s home, wishing to assist. When Lena helps them enter the house and Neri is close to grabbing the key, Kal accidentally knocks over a vase, waking Hellegren. They manage to escape without the key. Feeling disheartened by her academic performance, Sallyanne considers quitting but ultimately changes her mind after rescuing Jason when a bulkhead bursts.
