Brett discovers another fragment of Synchronium and interrupts Jason's training to share the exciting news. Meanwhile, UBRI has also tracked down the piece and is planning to secure it for themselves. Back on ORCA, Lena seeks answers about her father but finds no help from Brett, although she does meet Kal. Jason, Brett, and Neri set out to retrieve the second Synchronium piece, which lies deep inland, requiring a camel trek. They arrive only to find that UBRI has already taken the Synchronium. Kellar spots them, but they manage to evade him thanks to their swift camels. Dr. Hellegren begins analyzing the Synchronium and uncovers its ability to generate tidal forces.
