Harm steps up to defend Roscoe Martin, a troubled Vietnam veteran accused of helping a fellow patient commit suicide. In court, Harm argues that Roscoe didn’t provide the victim with his medication to release him from a drug-induced stupor, while the prosecution contends that the absence of the medication led to the man's death. Frustrated with how things are unfolding, Roscoe believes he's fighting an uphill battle and orchestrates an escape from the V.A. facility with three other patients. Their flight leads them to Harm's apartment, where a tense standoff escalates into danger as guns are drawn and a SWAT team arrives, viewing it as a hostage crisis.
