Kelly becomes the guardian of her 15-year-old half-sister, Tonya, who is homeless and seeking assistance to regain custody of her baby boy from social services. During a meeting with Tonya's social worker, Julie, they agree that Tonya must demonstrate her responsibility by caring for a simulated baby. However, things take a turn when the rebellious teen abandons Micky with the plastic infant, leaving him to face a tough choice. Meanwhile, Libby is inspired by what seems like a miracle after visiting a French grotto and decides to plan a pilgrimage for Patty. Excited yet terrified about breaking free from her mother, Patty convinces Frank to accompany her while she anxiously awaits at home. The two unexpected travelers end up sharing a room at a convent, where Frank unexpectedly becomes the center of attention.
