Episode Overview
After Charlie's ex-wife, Dawn, has disconnected his ventilator, the only thing left is to wait for his final breath. Heartbroken, Alex pledges to remain at Charlie's side. In a struggle against his impending death, Charlie encounters Mack MacIlreath, a colleague who has recently passed, sent to guide him through his transition. Meanwhile, Alex seeks legal assistance to challenge the decision with the Consent & Capacity Board. As the appeal unfolds, Alex is diverted by a young patient, Bea, whom he once operated on as a surgical resident. Though her check-up appears successful, Mack and Charlie suspect a misdiagnosis that could endanger her life if Alex doesn't intervene quickly. Meanwhile, Joel, sidelined with a broken hand, is limited to consultations, where he takes on the case of a choir singer who experiences an unexpected recovery from paralysis.
